Beyond Backup, Immutable Recovery of Okta in a Multi-IDP World March 31, 2026 at 11:33PM Tech Research Online Beyond Backup, Immutable Recovery of Okta in a Multi- IDP World When identity goes down, everything slows down with it. Most teams already know how critical Okta is to daily operations. What gets overlooked is what happens after an admin mistake, a malicious deletion, or a wider attack on identity infrastructure. Restoring access is one thing. Restoring it without breaking dependencies across users, groups, apps, and policies is something else entirely. In this on-demand webinar,  Rubrik  and  Okta  unpack why identity resilience needs more than basic backup. You’ll see how security teams can protect Okta with immutable recovery, handle rollback with more precision, and manage recovery across a world where most organizations rely on more than one identity provider. OkCupid settles FTC case on alleged misuse of its users' personal data March 30, 2026 at 11:52PM Jackson Chen Match Group and its subsidiary OkCupid has finally settled a lawsuit with the Federal Trade Commission that dates back to its alleged sharing of user data back in 2014. According to the lawsuit, the FTC accused OkCupid of inappropriately sharing personal user data that includes photos and location info with a third party company, Clarifai, which offers AI-powered software for uses like facial recognition and content moderation. According to the FTC, OkCupid's privacy policy at the time noted that the company wouldn't share a user's personal information with others, except for some cases including "service providers, business partners, other entities within its family of businesses." However, the lawsuit accused OkCupid of sharing three million photos of its users to Clarifai, which the FTC claims is a "unrelated third party" that did...

The original Hollow Knight just got an update to fix a glitch with a final boss

Image
The original Hollow Knight just got an update to fix a glitch with a final boss March 27, 2026 at 11:35PM Lawrence Bonk Team Cherry just fixed a bug with the original Hollow Knight , according to a report by GamesRadar . That game came out a full nine years ago, so it's pretty impressive that the dev team is still cranking out updates. Spoilers follow, but it's been nine years so whatever. The update involves a glitch regarding an attack from The Radiance, one of the final bosses of the game. At later stages, she tosses out these honing balls of light. These are difficult to avoid on their own, but a glitch made it so the balls of light occasionally lingered in the air after finishing. This added yet another way for the player to take some damage and led to numerous unnecessary deaths. This has now been fixed. The patch notes say the developers "fixed Radiance's orb attack hitbox lingering slightly longer than intended if the orb expires in the air." Th...

Here's your first look at For All Mankind spinoff Star City

Image
Here's your first look at For All Mankind spinoff Star City March 25, 2026 at 11:44PM Matt Tate Apple’s excellent For All Mankind might be wrapping up after its recently confirmed sixth season, but as one big-budget alt-history sci-fi show departs, another is born. Apple TV has just dropped the first teaser for Star City , which focuses on the reimagined space race of the 1960s from the Soviet perspective. ICYMI, For All Mankind has been running for nearly five seasons now (the fifth arrives later this week), with its debut season in 2019 asking, "what if Russia had beaten America to the moon?" For All Mankind has jumped a number of decades ahead since then, but Star City returns us to that initial premise, taking us behind the Iron Curtain to see how the Soviet Union orchestrated its fictional historical triumph. The brief teaser doesn’t show us much in the way of plot, but you straight away get what vibe the streamer is going for with a show it describes...

For All Mankind is returning for a sixth and final season

Image
For All Mankind is returning for a sixth and final season March 24, 2026 at 11:38PM Lawrence Bonk Apple TV's long-running sci-fi show For All Mankind has just been renewed for a sixth and final season , ahead of this week's season five premiere . This seems more like the natural endpoint of the story instead of a cancellation, according to remarks made by some of the creators. "Getting to explore the For All Mankind universe over six seasons has been an amazing privilege, and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to finish the story the way we’ve always hoped," co-creators and showrunners Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi said. "We’re incredibly proud of what this series has become, and grateful to Apple TV and Sony Pictures Television for helping us see it through to its final chapter." The plan for the show has always been to bring it up to the modern day and it looks like the creators will get to do just that. Season five takes place in the 2010s, wh...

A Minecraft theme park will open in London in 2027 March 21, 2026 at 11:30PM Will Shanklin The best-selling game of all time is moving from the virtual to the physical. UK reverses course on AI copyright position after backlash

Image
https://ift.tt/RoLsPTI UK reverses course on AI copyright position after backlash March 18, 2026 at 11:56PM Will Shanklin Chalk up a win for creative artists against AI companies. On Wednesday, the UK government abandoned its previous position on copyrighted works. It’s currently working on a data bill that, if unaltered, would have allowed AI companies like Google and OpenAI to train models on copyrighted materials without consent. Artists and other copyright holders would only have been offered a mere opt-out clause. After significant backlash , the UK backed off from that position. "We have listened," Technology Secretary Liz Kendall said on Wednesday. However, the government’s new stance is, well, not a stance at all. It currently "no longer has a preferred option" about how to handle the issue. Still, backpedaling from its previous position is viewed as a win for artists. UK Music CEO Tom Kiehl described the decision as "a major victory," wh...
